What to do here?

Imagine if you will. The front of the house is 50% porch 40% brick and two window peak and then there is a small enclave in the middle. It is 5' deep by 7' wide. There is a 3' x 3' window in the middle (this is an office in the house). I recently planted a flower bed by the 40% peak. The enclave receives water rain off from two peaks. Here is the question. What would you suggest putting in the small enclave? Flower bed? Rock garden? Bird bath? The area gets about 4 to 5 hours of sun a day.

What climate zone are you in and what direction does that side of the house face?

Climate zone 8C and side of the house faces west.
