Traveling the day before Thanksgiving

My cousin is a teacher, so she has limited time off during the year in which I can visit. I was thinking of flying out during the Thanksgiving break to visit her in California. I'd like come back the day before Thanksgiving but I'm thinking that's the worse day for airport travel.
Should I avoid this day?

Why not fly back on Thanksgiving day? Great day to travel

The best time ever to fly is Thanksgiving morning.
I’ve done it a few times and it’s amazing how quick and easy it is.

Seriously considering that, but the times and connection flight times aren't great.

Yes.
The day before thanksgiving may be the worst day to travel.

Flying Thanksgiving is like being on the interstate Christmas morning. It's a zen experience

You'd be fine tbh, it'll be busy but give yourself a little extra time and things should be good. If anything it's one of the most expensive days of the year to fly outside of Christmas Eve and New Years

Thanksgiving is my least favorite time to travel. That Wednesday-Sunday window is awful. The last several years we’ve been doing Monday to Monday.
