UFA after this season. With few picks in the upcoming draft, do the Saints go after this young safety?

And does he jump at the chance to return home or stay in Baltimore?

Also, same with Brandon Jacobs?

Two LA native could possibly fill positions of need.

They will obviously both be looking for big pay checks.

if we part ways with Deuce, that'll free up 7 million that we're scheduled to shell out next year...i'd love brandon jacobs, but there's about a 0% chance that NY lets him get away

Free agency and salary cap stuff is foreign to me. How could the Saints do that? Do we have that option or would the Saints have to take a penalty/hit for "cutting" him? I really dont know.

Yes, he is but I figured we could move Roman over to get the best players on the field.

wow...i didn't even realize he played SS...and moving Roman to FS would be a very, very bad idea...

i guess i should have known though considering Ed Reed plays for the Ravens...

I know this isnt necessarily telling of who should play what position but...

Well the reason I brought up FA is because we dont have a full allotment of picks and might lose our 1st round to go along with our 2nd and 3rds.

If Im not mistaken.

Its a possibility, something like about the Jets getting our 2nd or 3rd if we resign Vilma and he meets certain stats...

A pick that the Giants were supposed to get...

So if the Jets get the pick the Giants are owed, our first goes to NYG.

it won't be this seasons 1st round. no matter what the saints aren't losing their number 1 pick this upcoming draft. (unless they decide to trade it away)
i wish this talk would go away.. the worst possible scenario is that if we lose our number 1 pick it will be in 2010.

If that occurs, the Jets would take the second-rounder that was originally given to the Giants. The Giants would then receive the Saints' first-round pick in 2010 and the Saints would keep the fifth-round pick.

The people who want to believe it (despite being told again and again that it's not going to happen) will believe it. Even the Giant GM said there is a snowball's chance in hell they get the 1st pick.
The Saints will have technical ways around all this as you know.. and at the worst it will be 2010's first round pick.

We would have to resign Vilma to a new contract this year when he still has another year on his contract to get to that escalation in the clause and the saints are not going to do that if they would have to lose a number 1
