we bought an older house built around 1947. I am going to be adding insulation to my exterior walls, as they currently are uninsulated and we can hear a ton of outside noise. my options:
1) cut out sheet rock middle of wall and place batt insulation and then replace/ repair/ and repaint
2) Blow in Insulation
I am leaning towards option 1, and am trying to decide If I want fiberglass or mineral wool. but I could use some feedback.

I saw some of their ads, Theyd have to remove brick and nonsense. I think Id rather just patch whatever holes in drywall and then Paint

We have a house around the same age. Previous owner had someone fill the cavities with blow-in insulation. From the looks of it, they could core out a 2" hole in the siding between each stud cavity and blow up the the cavity til it was full. I assume they did the patch on the siding afterwards?
No mess inside. I'm sure the insulation has settled some since then, but no issues with sound transfer.
