Cost for anything under 12 rounds looks like about $80/round and with 4 rounds at $344 thats less than what one round at Kiva and one round at Peninsula would cost.

$80 a round in the winter? What am I missing? Doesn't seem like a deal at all

$80 at Kiva or any other course with that quality is absolutely a good deal.

That course, along with others in that area get play 12 months a year. We take our golf trip there every March but usually split the rounds between Kiva and other courses so not sure the 4 round package makes sense for one trip but for two trips it's definitely got value.
Especially when one round is going to cost $135 or more depending on the time of day.

As I understand it, the 4 round package can be used on four different people, all in one tee time. You should check with them to be sure, but if my understanding is correct it has value even if you're only playing Kiva once.
ETA: Does anyone know if Kiva overseeds during the winter?

Our trip is in March (usually first weekend of the NCAA tourney) and I can say at least during that time for the last 8 years or so, the course is in really nice shape.

Played there when it first opened for about $40 if I remember correctly. It was actually designed differently to what it is, when the tree hugger/ peta folks cried about the endangered sand mouse. So they redesigned it to accommodate the little buggers.
