I'm headin to Calandro's after work to pick up some beer. What are some recommendations? I tend to like medium to dark beer. Any suggestions?

There are several good Christmas Ales out right now...Abita and Anchor Steam...and I think Sierra Nevada.

have you had Delirium yet. They have 2 types there, Delirium Nocturnum, and Delirium Tremens.
I've had anchor steam once, wasn't a big fan. I had their original.

St. Bernardus, Chimay, try some of the Christmas ales that are out. They might have Delirium Noel, which would be a good one to check out.
They had some good Bear Republic ales last time I was there, the Racer 5 IPA is a great one, if you like hops.

I like both...Tremens may well be my favorite beer in the world that I can get in America.

even better than yuengling?

Yuengling isn't all that good. Better than macrobrews, sure, but far short of good imports and craft beers.

Oh, check out what she's doing for my birthday. She's been buying different beer's when she goes to Orlando and places, and for my birthday she's going to have a sort of tasting for me. Pretty sweet.

I had some recently... still have a bottle or two in the fridge, was not overly impressed. It's not BAD, by any means, but it's nothing special. If it's Budweiser or Yuengling, I'm taking the Yuengling every time, but if it's Chimay or Delirium Tremens or Yuengling, easy choice the other way.

This should be all you need...

Sierra Nevada Porter and Anchor Steam is very good.
Also, looking for a foreign import, you can't go wrong with Guiness Extra Sout, but also, for a little lighter, there's a German or Belgium beer with a monk on the label that I find very enjoyable.

Sounds like St. Bernardus. Get the Abt 12, you will not be disappointed.

Samuel Smith's Nut Brown Ale. Give it a try.

I agree with a lot of these recommendations, especially the St. Bernardus, Duvel, and Delerium. The Unibroue beers are pretty good too.

Nah, not unless that's what the German/Belgium name on the beer stands for.

Salvador Double Bock is good too.

Nope, it would say St. Bernardus, but it is Belgian and has a monk on the label.

Nah...it's not that one. But I will look for that in the future, as I haven't tried it.
There's another one, and the name on the label is in German or Belgium. I'm trying to find it online right now. Used to be on beer.com.
