We're going on Thursday Sep 3rd and coming back to BR on Sunday ... just curious for those that have been to Seattle and possibly stayed at one of the following downtown hotels what they thought of it and the location relative to bars/restuarants/attractions... none of us have ever been to Seattle.

Crowne Plaza Seattle: $207.00/nt
Hotel Max: $212.00/nt
Renaissance Seattle Hotel: $219.00/nt
Westin Seattle: $240.00/nt
Marriott Seattle Waterfront: $249.00/nt
Hilton Seattle: $279.00/nt

I'm at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue right now at 139/nt.

Might switch over to one of these if I can justify the cost difference.

I live about 40 miles south of Seattle and anywhere you stay is going to be nice. It is a very clean city and they really take care of it. Great nightlife there too, they have a little square called Pioneer Square that is kickin' on the weekends (imagine a very clean and alot smaller Bourbon Street with not as many people)... especially since LSU will be in town. You'll have a great time... The Westin in really nice and it is in a good location, right between Pioneer Square and the Space Needle.

i travel to SEA all the time for business. hotel max is cool - very much a "boutique" hotel, so it's pretty intersting.

i vote for the hyatt downtown (they're building a new one right now about a block away as well). the one that is open now is totally awesome. super clean and nice. very intersting rooms with amazing bathrooms. cool decor.

Westin sounds like it's in a good location.

any of those are great choices. i wouldn't stay in bellevue unless the cost was an issue. it's a nice little drive and all of the night life is in seattle

I wouldn't stay downtown. I'm sure you can get a cheaper Holiday Inn Express or Hilton or something right outside of Seattle.

All the hotels are nice. I wish I had a mansion to put everyone up next September.

Also, use Priceline. I get 4 star hotels for $75 usually.

The Space Needle and Pioneer Square are on opposite ends of downtown. So, its 2-3 miles between them, and about every downtown hotel is between them. Not saying the Westin isn't nice.

The hotels by the Space aren't too nice but cheaper.

Check out Hotel Andra, very nice really enjoyed my stay there. Sheraton is also pretty nice. Most of the hotels are all within walking distance to anything downtown. Can't wait to go!

If you stay in a hotel you can walk anywhere around there but it's a bit far from UW. But there is excellent public transportation and it's easy to catch a bus.

Why do you say that? Price really isn't an issue as much as proximity to cool stuff (restaurants, bars, shopping, etc) ... not worried about being close to U-Dub, either. Having said that, we don't want to spend $400 a night ... anything in the $200-$300 a night price range is fine, though.

I've always been told to stay downtown when we go there ... why do you say otherwise? Just curious.
ETA: Don't know if it matters or not, but we're all mid-20s.

I was going to say there was a new Marriott on the waterfront. I have stayed at the Edge Water Inn which was a really nice hotel located on a Pier. It is just a quick walk/drive up the hill from the Space Needle.

Looked at that one, it looks nice. It looks kinda like the Hotel Max ... a smaller, boutique hotel, which is really cool if I was just going to Seattle to visit (and no LSU game).

When I go see the Tigers on the road, though, I like staying at the bigger hotels where there is more of a chance of more Tiger fans. It's fun rolling back into the hotel at 3am and seeing other drunk Tiger fans roaming around, lol. Stupid, I know, but I enjoy that.
