Is it better to fly into Anchorage or Fairbanks? Is one airport, cheaper, better, etc., than the other one? Looking at May 2025. Thanks.

You know that Fairbanks is in the middle of Alaska right? Like it's landlocked and no where near the ocean.

Yes. We are looking at a trip which starts on land first. We can start in Fairbanks or Anchorage (same price). Then a combo of Denali & Mt. McKinley, then the ship departs Whittier. We're not sure why the cruiselines are offering starting in Fairbanks. Anchorage is a much bigger city.
