If you're the Saints GM - What moves do you make?

I think we should try to address our biggest needs in free agency (as usual) so that we can draft the best player on the board at 14.
Here's what I'd do:
1. Re-sign Vilma
2. Consider moving McKenzie to Safety a'la Woodson
3. Sign an OLB (Carlos Dansby)
4. Sign a S (slim pickins it appears)
5. Draft a S or an OT with the #14 pick

Get rid of Duece and Shockey and free up the 10 million that will be due them for next season.

1. Definitely resign Vilma.
2. Get some depth in our secondary.
3. Find a solid backup QB as insurance. (Unless Brunell's been showing Palko some magic tricks.)
4. Hold a parent-teacher conference with Smith and Grant. (Grades aren't what they should be. Are there problems at home?)
5. Give that Garrett Hartley kid a gold star.
6. Pat Deuce on the back, thank him for everything, give him a big sloppy kiss goodbye.
7. Probably wouldn't hurt to talk to some D coordinators.

I like the McKenzie to safety idea. Porter,David, and Gay at corner would be sufficient with good safeties.
Also, We have to find a way to get a pass rush with the people we have. With the names and dollars on the D line, there is no reason for the lack of attack on opposing QBs.

Fire Payton, trade Bush and Brees for defensive help. Without a defense it doesn't matter what numbers Brees puts up. Besides when his contract is up, he'll go somewhere for big bucks and the Saints will get nothing. Better to dump him now for the players you really need. Bush is a waste, he will never to do anything to help the Saints beat anyone. All the defensive players need to be gotten rid of.

The Mike McKenzie to safety idea is crap. Please, for the sake of the universe and the tiny infant baby Jebus, stop with this terrible, awful, ridiculous idea.

get the best running the ball offensive coach we can find and get rid of Gibbs at Dc. Maybe move bush to receiver. Sign Maurice Morris in free agent market and Dawkins if we can. Draft the ohio state road warriors son James Laurinaitis. And draft John Parker Wilson in the fourth round to back up Brees. Thats what i would do.

I always enjoy your humor, but seriously, how is this a bad idea? He's getting older and has better ball skills than every safety on our roster and practice squad combined. He's not our best corner anymore and if it saves us from having to spend too much on a free agent and he can contribute, what can it hurt?
