With all this talk of the 80’s
Here’s one of the best groups ever
On this day in 1987, the New Order compilation “Substance” was released.
What are your favorite songs on the compilation?
I Love every song!!
This is My All-Time Favorite New Order Song

Just a few years earlier is a far superior album...

Movement was New Order's first album after Ian Curtis' untimely death and hence was comprised of songs written for the next Joy Division album.
I also love Power, Corruption and Lies...
This album is garbage and I gave it away after purchasing the CD when it came out...Technique.
I saw New Order live on their Brotherhood tour.

Technique is my favorite New Order album. Every song, front to back, is fantastic. In fact, Dream Attack is my favorite New Order song.

This is so true, especially with art. Please don't take offense
Technique was a departure from what made me love their earlier stuff.

None taken. Art is art.
While I truly appreciate the rough, raw sound of early New Order, I also really appreciate the more polished and refined sound (vocals, guitars, synths) found in Technique. They took what I loved about early New Order and smoothed it out. Dream Attack is the epitome of that, for me.

Besides the obvious hits, I’m a big fan of Shellshock and 1963.
