Big time out of conference games to kick off season.

Someone please explain to me, how the benefits out way the negatives.
We already started out ranked highly. Winning this game might’ve moved us up 3-4 spots at most. It’s not like we needed this game to have a shot at proving ourselves.
The SEC schedule is hard enough alone why make it even harder on ourselves to make it into the playoff….especially after we experienced some this with Florida state.
People will downvote to hell and say it’s a p*ssy attitude. This isn’t the BCS system anymore. If you want to have a hard head mentality and just make it harder on yourself to make it to the playoff you need to accept college football for what it is in 2024. I’m not saying we shouldn’t play games to test us before the playoffs, we have a gauntlet of a schedule left. In the future all I’m getting across is we work smarter not harder to get in playoffs and have a shot.

But the bigger issue is scheduling these Week 1 when our team is clearly not prepared.
Need the cupcake Week 1, and big game Week 2.

Or do like most sec schools, schedule a patsy first
It makes no sense to play usc and ucla on top of a sec schedule when no one else is doing it
