Hows the fishing usually the week after a hurricane? Shouldn't be a direct hit, but would expect storm surge and some flooding.

Knowing Lafitte, I would hold off on those plans depending on how far east this storm drifts.

Good friend of mine has a camp. What should we be expecting, just bad fishing or something else?

Anything from impassible waterways (lilies, floatons etc) to impassible roads. Even with moderate surge events, the roads will be flooded.
Honestly, I've never fished down there immediately after a storm. I was just speaking more to the logistics of getting down there. I have just been down there to assist family following storms for the last 20 years. It usually gets wrecked from these storm surge events.

Whenever I was able to fish after a storm it was great.
