i don't think it would make a difference...I usually think stoner comedies are funny but this one tried to do too much or something
I saw it the same week as Tropic Thunder and that was a shitty movie-going week

i don't mind Seth Rogen but I don't think he's ever even been in the same universe as Will Ferrell comedically
in PE he just used that high pitched whiny voice the whole time and it drove me insane

I liked Harold and Kumar way more, it seemed like this is one of those movies where "you had to have been there and done that" to find it funny or relate to their experience

if you 'had to be a stoner and get mixed up in a murderous drug ring while stretching the beliefs of believability' then I think they were making this movie for a small audience

i agree with most things said on this thread. it was pretty damn over-hyped and overrated if you ask me. james franco was very funny, other than that it was nothing to write home about. it was also a very irritating movie experience with everyone in the theater laughing at the top of their lungs just so everyone knew that they totally understood all the stoner humor cause they smoke so much weed. i don't think whether or not you smoke weed has much to do with one's opinion of the movie because i like to smoke weed and i still didn't think it was all that awesome. in my opinion it was one of the weaker efforts in the line of 40 year old virgin, superbad, forgetting sarah marshall, etc.

When I said that SR is the new WF, I wasn't saying that I'm a Will Ferell fan. I can't stand him. He's more funny when he is not the main character (like Old School and Night...Roxbury). Same way w/ Rogen.
