I've been thinking about learning Spanish (Latin American variant) for some time. I have no meaningful experience with this, but it strikes me that a sound approach is to go through Audibel (going to use this one to start because my wife bought a lifetime subscription) and supplement it with Spanish-language books. This is where I'm hoping this board can help.
It strikes me that a good approach to what books to read is to identify the Spanish-language equivalent of the readers we all used in elementary school. I hope you know what I'm talking about. They start very, very basically in kindergarten (think dick and jane) and progress through the grades.
My question: what is the name of that series of books? And more particularly, what is their Spanish equivalent?
Your help is appreciated.

Idk about dick and jane (holy blast from the past batman) but i grew up on the border and one thing we did was read all the Dr. Seuss books in Spanish.
