Yes, I had to look up the spelling.

I will be attending an event in Natchitoches in a few months and would like to spend a long weekend in a nice B&B close to downtown. Anyone have any good recommendations?

Also, what are a few of the best restaurants in town?

Thanks.

Not a B&B, but we were not impressed with Chateau Saint Denis hotel.

Mayeux's Sunday Brunch is fantastic.

Mariner's is always a great place to see Lake Sibley.

We ended up booking the Violet Hill B&B which must be affiliated with yours because they are listed on the same website.
Looks like a nice one. Centrally located with porches overlooking the river.

Same. Church street Inn is slightly better for the same price.

Thought I would come back to give a report.

We were in Nachitoches last Thursday through Sunday for the HOF inductions and enjoyed it very much.

We stayed at the Violet Hill B&B which I highly recommend. It is a quaint little place in a good location just a couple of short blocks from the middle of town. The decor is elegant, and the breakfasts were delicious (although maybe not for the calorie conscious).
It is on the Cane River Lake and they have a back porch overlooking the lake and a gazebo covered patio down the hill right on the lake. It was nice and relaxing to sit out there, especially when the breezes gave some relief to the heat.

Restaurants
We ate at Mayeux's Thursday night. It is a popular place and rightly so. The food was good.
Merci Beaucoup appears to be the place in town for more upscale dining, but we went there for a private party and didn't order off the menu. Their buffet set up was very good.
Same with the more casual Front Street establishments like Papa's Bar and Mama's Oyster House. We were there for a party the night of the riverfront concert and fireworks show.
We didn't get to Mariner's because we stayed at the places within walking distance.

As for the meat pies - we tried a bunch of different versions. The two best were the ones from Merci Beaucoup and the ones from French Market Express, a gas station and deli by the Interstate right down the street from Northwestern. We bought a dozen of those to take home. Very tasty.

We enjoyed our long weekend in Nachitoches and look forward to going back for the Christmas lights,
