Beaches Turks and Caicos Review

Took our order two boys (10 and 13) for a week long get away. If you’ve got kids, this is an excellent option. Definitely go the concierge route if you’re looking to splurge.
Food:
Surprisingly good steaks considering there probably isn’t a cow on the island. Steak and eggs at Schooners is the best breakfast you’ll find.
Spiny lobster was in season. If you can, get it for every meal. Especially at Sapodillas.
Sushi was above average and very fresh.
Hibachi is a mad house. Fun, but an absolute mad house.
Italian food was disappointing.
Plenty of ice cream, wings, burgers, nuggets, fries, etc. for kids to get after.
Drinks:
Hit or miss. We found a bar with a bartender who gave a damn so that made it much better.
Airport:
Gonna be a CF. That’s all I have to say about that.
Kids offerings:
Kids 2-10 pretty much have a full day of activities to attend if you want to do that. They even do a late night event if you’re looking to go for dinner without them. If you’ve have little bitty ones, of which there were a ton, they offer sitters as well.
Excursions:
Diving was pretty good. We got our 13 year old certified and that’s all he wanted to do the rest of the trip.
We also did the catamaran cruise to iguana island. On the way there you stop at a reef and snorkel. The iguanas were pretty cool if nature is your thing. It’s worth it if you have kids under 13.
Altogether, I’d recommend it.

Beaches. It’s a resort.

My wife and I have been to Turks and Caicos a few times. We stay in a small and quiet but incredibly nice place just down the beach from Beaches. Beaches always looks very active, crowded and loud. It’s an all inclusive and pretty expensive. I think for kids it would be a lot of fun but it isn’t worth it to me to pay that price and kind of limit yourself to one resort when there are so many great places to eat and things to do on the rest of the islands there.

It’s expensive and not a place to stay if you don’t have kids.

I’m not sure Beaches is worth it if you have kids with you but different things appeal to different people. Beaches does stay crowded.

Under no circumstances would I go there with just the wife and I. There are waaaaaaaaaay better places in the Caribbean.
We’re going to Hammock Cove in Antigua in May. Much more of our style when there aren’t kids around.

We did VIP Flyer when we went there, and it was worth every penny. We walked through security and had a private area with AC and food. I thought that airport was bad, until I went to Roatan this year.

But in Roatan, at least in the past, they had the banana donuts guy hawking those exceptional donuts.
