Place was packed.
Thought our reservation was for dining room, but ended up in the bar. No big deal.
No entrees…apps and salads.
Chargrilled oysters and egg rolls to start.
Wedge for me, Caesar for wife.
Finished with crab cakes and boudin arrincine (boudin balls).
Wedge was off, needed salt. Everything else really good. Service could have been a little more attentive.
Overall, good experience. Will keep in the rotation.

Place was packed.
if a nice restaurant isn't packed on a Friday night during Christmas.....they won't be around much longer.

Gonna need an explanation. What component lacked sufficient salt?

We go once a week. Definitely one of the most consistent places in town.
Had lunch there yesterday

It had an onion marmalade, bacon, blue cheese, tomatoes. I cut the lettuce and kind of mixed everything together. Not sure why, but it just lacked flavor. I rarely add salt to food at a restaurant, but I did to this. The salt helped.

That all looks amazing

We got a dozen chargrilled. I would have liked some raw, but my wife would not abide that.
The chargrilled oysters and the cedar plank redfish are their calling card.
Well earned reputation for a long stretch of consistent good food.
All that said, I made some chili tonight. I commented to my father that a bite of that chili was as good as any bite of food I had last night.
Guess im getting old.

Mansur's has been one of the best restaurants in BR for decades! I love that it's still thriving. Consistent food and excellent service every time!

Sounds to me like you got over on the man a little bit. You got the equivalent of a full meal in the bar, but did not order off the entrée section. Well played!
