Mossberg 500 or 590?

Went through this a few months ago.
500 if you might ever any chance want a hunting barrel on it. 590a1 if you want strictly self defense no chance of ever hunting and want heavy duty. Regular 590 if you want lightweight and don't mind a few plastic parts. The standard 590 only takes 590 barrels unless you change the mag tube.
590a1 is parkerized, heavy barrel, no plastic mil spec. 590 is a regular 500 with a long cleanout mag tube and short barrel. 500 is a regular ol 500, can be had with a short or long barrel.

I have the mossberg maverick 88 in my closet right now for home defense. Great little gun for exactly what I need it for. Reliable and easy to handle in close quarters.
