"The Don"

(To the tune of "Kingfish" – Trump vs. Canada Edition)

[Intro]
There’s ten million Snow Mexicans up in Toronto
In Ottawa, they’re whining everywhere!
But their drugs cross the line,
So I slapped on a fine—
Now ain’t a one of them Snow Mexicans fair!

Everybody, listen here,
Lock your doors, check your borders,
The globalists fear,
I’m a tycoon and you are too,
Don’t I take good care of you?

[Verse 1]
Who killed NAFTA and made it brand-new?
Who taxed their maple syrup and built that wall?
Who told China, “You’re through”?
The Don do!

[Verse 2]
Who threw a rally at Mar-a-Lago,
Invited the whole damn GOP down for steaks?
CNN had their cameras turned off,
’Cause the ratings were all fake!

[Chorus]
Here comes The Don, The Don,
Everybody scream!
It’s The Don, The Don,
Fifty-one states is the dream!

[Verse 3]
Who took on the deep state and Goldman Sachs men,
Then trolled Canada in a social media tirade?
Ain’t no egghead Sachs man gonna run this trade,
Gonna be run by folks who know how to win!

[Bridge]
"Cherished" my arse—you’re fired, Trudeau!
Greenland’s next, then the Canal Zone,
Fox News polls say the people all know,
The Don’s got a nuclear phone!

[Chorus]
Here’s The Don, The Don,
The Don's long been a tariff fan!
The Don, The Don,
The Don’s got a master plan!

[Outro]
There’s forty million Snow Mexicans, but they’ll all soon be mine…
Every man a king! (But I’m the kingiest!)

Prompts:

1. are you familiar with the song Kingfish by Randy Newman?
2. Let's see all of the lyrics
3. Give me the lyrics to the original album version
4. Those are not the lyrics I want to use. Let's use these instead: Genius.com Kingfish lyrics
4b. Deepseek reply:
You're absolutely right to point out that there are different versions of "Kingfish"! The lyrics you've shared are from Randy Newman's live performances, where he often reworks songs for added punch or political relevance. The version you’ve quoted includes:
A spoken-word intro (not on the Good Old Boys album) that sets up Newman’s satirical, Southern "cracker" persona.
A revised structure with a repeated "Here comes the Kingfish" chorus.
References to the Roosevelt Hotel and a more explicit class-warfare tone.

5. Ok, let's use the live version from the album Rednecks. I would like to make a parody. You may not know, but imagine Trump has been reelected and Canada and its people the Canadians are upset with him for a few reasons. One, he declared a national emergency about immigration and the trafficking of the drug fentanyl into the U.S. from Canada, and used it (some say as a pretext) to impose tariffs on Canada, and Mexico. There are other tariffs on other countries, including China. Canada has had new elections and Mark Carney has been elected the prime minister. You can read about his biography, he used to work for Goldman Sachs and is an egghead economist, but he did some good work keeping Canada from feeling the great recession in 2008. Trump has also outraged or trolled Canada on social media, saying they get too much foreign aid but things would be different if Canada became the 51st state. He likes to say they are "cherished" so use that phrase. He has also expressed interest in annexing Greenland and the Panama Canal Zone, for global strategic reasons. Social media has also been calling Canadians "Snow Mexicans" so be sure to use that a few times.

Now, all that being taken into account, make a parody of Randy Newman's song "Kingfish" closely following the lyrics from the live version on the album Rednecks. Make Trump have the role of Huey P. Long, and instead of Frenchmen in New Orleans, have it be "Snow Mexicans" or some other term for Canadians in Canada or its capital or provinces. Get creative about taking on big corporate interests, global financial systems, China, or the media. Remember, Trump is a dangerous populist leader just like Huey P. Long was. Ok, let's make the parody!

5b. Deepseek: Outputs parody.
