Can anyone recommend a good brand exterior door under $800 and someone experienced and licensed to install it? I’m in Zachary.

For that price range likely Jedlwen or Masonite.

You could go to a local supplier and speak with them though. A lot of times builders will order the wrong thing and the suppliers will get stuck with these specialty doors and sell at a discount snd you can get a good deal.

You're likely going to have to do fiberglass at that price range if you want to stay below $800 after taxes.

Try Holmes and Stine. Worst case scenario too they'll have some new ones in stock you can touch and feel snd if your in no major rush they'll give you some options on ones with decorative glass and stuff,

I just did a facade remodel for someone though and they bought a door that I thought was a good deal from Lowe's, it had a fleur-de-lis glass and it looked really good. I think it cost them like $600 and was a Masonite. One sec I'll look it up.

ETA: It was a Steel door and I typically advise against metal but it came out really slick

I'm not a fan of the steel clad doors. I've done a lot of painting and I find those steel doors I've had to deal with over the years usually have rust issues, especially at the bottoms of the doors.

They also ding very easily and I can't recall seeing one door that didn't have several small to medium size dents in them, especially when kids are involved.
