Anyone have any experience with the above mentioned boat and what to look for when in regards to inspecting it . The boat will also come with a trailer . I have never personally owned a boat so when it comes to inspecting the trailer as well as the boat itself any information or personal reviews would be appreciated.

Edit to say both the boat and motor would be early 2000. I’ll be getting it from a distant family member and that was all the information provided at the moment

20+ yr old boat for how much $$$?
Is the motor running? Trailer bearings been serviced? How old are tires?

Everything runs , the motor was serviced 8 months ago and ran once after that and just has been sitting up . I already assumed I needed new tires , battery , and cosmetic stuff . The price is under 4K . I realize it’s family but not family I see or speak with often or ever at all . I also have read enough threads about breaking out another 1k … was just kinda trying to figure out what to look for or if anyone had that brand of boat and had any issues or what not ….

Thank you for the reply I probably should have been more specific , my apologies

No problem, under $4 and can probably be flipped for double if you decide you don’t like boating.
It’s a solid buy

I have an 07 16.5 ft with a 60 Yamaha. What brand is the trailer? If it’s square tube trailer and been used in salt water check it out thoroughly. Mine rusted to pieces and I just had to replace it. The boat itself is solid.

Also thought about that as well . Once I give it a look over , when it comes to a new / maybe used motor I’ll again reach out to the board for suggestions.

Take it off the trailer and inspect the btm where it sits on the trailer to make sure it ain't pitted. As far as the Merc, them old red stripe 2 stroke mercury are pretty good.

Update . Got the boat today . Came with MinnKota trolling motor , Lowrance GPS , three new tires . Boat is a 2006 as well as the motor which is a Merc 200 Saltwater Series . Trailer is a 2016 and it did have a rust spot that will need to be addressed in my and probably rewiring. Will also need three batteries . The boat was last serviced and ran 8 months ago but everything looked in great condition given its age .

Thank you to everyone who gave me some advice and what to check and look out for prior to purchase.

Those motors need clean fuel, make sure to keep extra filters on hand (vst & inline). Run the rpm’s up to 5,600 heading to dock at the end of the day.
