Elons Boring Co. - nashville tunnel

Saw a story where elon is building a tunnel from downtown to the airport ti help with traffic. Is this for real?

It's not the most efficient model for sure, the one in Las Vegas hasn't really helped much, but it's novel.
The problem with Nashville isn't the traffic getting to the airport... It's the airport itself.. The current construction dumping long term parking onto the terminal loop is beyond insane

Would have to disagree about traffic. Its perpetual rush hour traffic on 40East to the airport. I drive it every day. Id be thrilled with any relief this tunnel would bring

That's fair I tend to avoid the airport during any rush hour. I just flew out of their a few weeks ago on a middle of the day on Wednesday and back on Sunday. The traffic on the terminal loop was insane... Took longer to get out of the airport than anything else.
Since the Tesla loops are limited to single car, the amount of traffic going through them is pretty small. But if it connected directly to the terminals, guessing it could definitely help some.
Granted Nashville will find a way to frick up the airport

This will only help tourists. It will do nothing to help traffic for the metro area. That's a much larger issue than getting tourists to and from the Airport.
I'm ambivalent towards the project. Just don't ask me for tax money.
