over this decision by the state to shut down the barataria diversion and for good reason. Heading into work this morning saw two seperate videos on the project and that it was scratched. I was just randomly scrolling through youtube. I don't think this is just going to go away like Billy and Jeff think it will.

One can only hope. To this day I can't understand the argument against this especially after seeing the Neptune Pass Mardi Gras Pass and Wax Lake delta creations.
Dolphins will die....come on...they will just move further out.

It's an intellectually dishonest argument.

There are some legitimate arguments against the project - but Billy and Jeff didn't lean on those in canceling the diversion. It's a BIG swing on a project that isn't guaranteed to build land efficiently, but I think we have to start taking big swings in order to help keep south LA viable.
Graves going in hard on them was pretty interesting. I know there is no love lost there between Garret and Jeff, but still interesting to just put them on blast like that. He is a good dude who is passionate about the coast. Thankful he is trying to stay relevant after his congressional seat was eliminated.

Pretty soon even taking a big swing won't matter anymore and there will be a lot of I told you so! Won't be long before the oyster mafia will have to make long runs to get to leases at this rate.

Yet again another black eye for the state of LA. Once again corruption and greed win, and mother earth and lady justice are raped.
The people will not forget this and Dove is already feeling the pressure because of this (and rightfully so). The consequences to this will be very dire and hell will be paid in the future.
What pisses me off is that this governor cancels a project that wasted millions of dollars despite tremendous scientific research and studies...and then goes to the ultra rich Harvey Gulf fishing camp in grand isle literally right after. Honestly a slap in the face to the public.

Our state has virtually no respect for the natural resources. It’s impressive in the worst way possible.
The most bare BLM ground in the middle of nowhere Nevada desert gets treated better than 90% of our state. And that’s in very conservative cattle country.

The dolphin excuse was their attempt to tug at heart strings. And it is going to blow up in their f’ing faces. :can’t wait gif:
