New Media is on LSUsports.net
Anyone know how you can find out more Baseball Stats such as fewest errors allowed by an infielder in a season. I noticed that they have a stat for most errors committed; therefore, I was wondering who holds record for the fewest errors allowed in a season.

I'm sure the record is zero (EDIT: Oops. I didn't notice you said "infielder," but even so, you still have to come up with a minimum number of recorded defensive plays, and then decide if you are going to put 1B and P on par with the rest.). That stat isn't normally kept, since certain fielding positions (OF, P) tend to produce fewer errors, and since many players split time or DH.
Looking at my past LSU Baseball Official Yearbook from 2007, I see that the team record for fielding percentage is .970 from 1995. It's just hard to come up with meaningful fielding statistics in baseball. Team fielding percentage is about the best we can do, but even that is sometimes misleading, and doesn't take into account things like range and pitching styles.

You're correct; it just that I think Russ Johnson had like 5 errors in one season which is almost unheard of at 2nd Base....If I'm not mistaken, Schimpf had 4 last year at second; I just thought there was some kind of record keeping at this. For example # of errors/per inning of play with some kind of minimum number of games/innings have to be played.....I don't know....just thinking out loud.
