Some clarity in these turbulent times

I am an LSU die hard…. 40 years old and distinctly remember games from 1992 on…. Was part of the shitty years and the resurrection. But I think that I have matured to a degree or maybe it is just that I have apathy…. But to anyone who says that if you aren’t hurt and it doesn’t ruin your week and next week and your wife has to ask why you watch…. Come on man. It’s at the end of the day, a game played by kids who could give a shite about your bleeding allegiance. I love LSU as much as anyone and watch every game till it hits zero…. But if you’re basing your life on LSU football winning a natty Then you have a lot of self reflection to do.
I hate BK I hate Woodward I hate Sloan I hate Davis… I think Nuss is a pussy. I think Perk is overrated. I think our OL is a bunch or young idiots.
But I love watching LSU football regardless. And that’s what a true LSU fan is. The die hards who watched us go 3-7 and still were rabid the next year against Florida till we beat them in 97… the fans who watched us go
3-8 in 1999 and then win it all in 2003
The fans who watched us go 8-5 in 2008 and 2014 but also have championships in between.
We live in a different world now. It’s not kids anymore, even 30-40 year old men running shite at universities are a product of the NOW world.
It makes me sad to see how this new world we live in reduces our fan base to what it is. Tiger Stadium is only rowdy when we are good… used to always be cause it was something to do. Season is over…..even though we have everything to play for still. Can you imagine if we win the next 2 games??? People will laugh and call you an idiot… but isn’t that what being a fan is? Hope? What else can we control?
In the end…. We are fans… we have more nattys than any team since 2000 except what? 2 or 3?
Get a life guys and enjoy college athletics for what it is. LSU will be back…. We are in a recession.

Been saying this same thing forever and i started watching in the early 70s. The 90’s were the hardest, but I watched every time they were on TV. These people who’s lives revolve around whether this team wins a national championship or not is a little much. I bleed Purple & Gold and hate when we loose as much as the next person, but the Sun still comes up every morning even after a loss.

So I’m supposed to spend my 8 grand a year at least on tickets and donations and be happy still when we lose to Vanderbilt and Ole Piss? 5-10 against ranked teams under this loser. I don’t lose sleep over it but it still freaking sucks for everyone spending their hard earned money to support an inferior product that is being ruined by a small set of people. But anyways, I’ll still be there screaming this Saturday in the North endzone where I’ve spent the last 30 years. Geaux Tigers
