Kiffin, more than anyone else at a P4, will pick offensive players that fit his system

My Ole Miss colleague who is a massive fan and follows recruiting a bunch told me when we hired Kiffin that the offensive players he signs will not pop off the screen from a rankings/ratings perspective, but they almost always fit exactly into what Kiffin wants in his system. He has a design in his head for what skills/size each position needs to make his offense hum and he goes and gets that. This is coming to fruition it appears.

Look at guys like Judkins, Lacy, Chambliss, etc. He knows what works and what doesn't. I'd stop freaking out about the players he picks up on offense in the portal.

Raycine Guillory is a good example of this. People all wrapped up in portal and recruiting rankings will just have to get used to this on the offensive side of the ball.

It would be like hiring Billy Beane and then getting upset that he signed a guy with a bad batting average

Raycine Guillory reminds me of Ulysses Bently who had a knack for breaking them against us. Dude was lightning in a bottle but I heard some off field stuff kept him from having a constant role.

Yeah but with that being said, Ole Miss’s portal class was ranked 4th last year…I’d take that this year. We will see.

Largely because they had 32 players transfer in. That's fricking wild.

We’ve got “Soros Level” agitators on this site, good luck with that

Didn't LSU have the top ranked portal class last year?

He also brought in a D2 QB who is leading Ole Miss right now. Most of you would shite your pants if Lane did that right now. Everyone needs to chill a little bit. He has this portal, another high school signing date coming and another portal this summer. I tend to think by the time it’s said and done we will have a better team next year than this year. Maybe not exactly where we want, but trending in the right direction.

I'd wager less than 1% that comes out of the Ole Miss camp is ever true.
