These shipments—often ~$40M at a time—began after the Taliban takeover in August 2021 to support aid operations amid banking restrictions. The Taliban benefits indirectly (e.g., via taxes, auctions, or central bank control), per SIGAR reports. Duration: Approximately 4 years as of January 2026 (starting shortly after August 2021). The practice has been ongoing since then, though amounts and frequency vary.

Utterly ridiculous that I need to contact an elected official, who is supposed to put his constituents first, and tell him to not send my tax dollars to terrorists.

We need a hard reset on every single one of our reps.
