Alberta Independence Referendum

I have a few Canadian coworkers and my company has a facility in Alberta province. I need to get their take on how likely this is to pass. I think it's highly likely they get enough votes to put it to a referendum.
This would be a BIG DEAL to Canada.

PS - did you know the main reason Trump started referring to Canada as the 51st state was because Trudeau stated the Canadian economy wasn't sustainable without the US? Pretty dumb of him to admit in a negotiation.

A better trade proposal. We get Alberta and the NW territories and Canada will like it.

If Alberta leaves, and then especially if it were to become part of the US, that would pretty much shut Canada down unless they can survive without a west coast (because the only all-Canadian access to BC would then be only through the NWT).

It would be really awesome if Alberta becomes an independent country and the Flames and Oilers win the next two Stanley Cups.
