The Paramount card starts an hour earlier (awesome). Even without the Harrison/Nunes fight, this card is frickin stacked. Umar/Figueiredo and Gautier fighting on the prelim tells you all you need to know.

Alex Perez getting a quick turnaround from fighting just two months ago. Hopefully he can turn his misfortunes around.

quote:

Main Card
Justin Gaethje vs. Paddy Pimblett
Sean O’Malley vs. Song Yadong
Derrick Lewis vs. Waldo Cortes-Acosta
Rose Namajunas vs. Natália Silva
Arnold Allen vs. Jean Silva

Preliminary Card
Umar Nurmagomedov vs. Deiveson Figueiredo
Ateba Gautier vs. Andrey Pulyaev
Nikita Krylov vs. Modestas Bukauskas
Alex Perez vs. Charles Johnson

Early Prelim Card
Michael Johnson vs. Alexander Hernandez
Josh Hokit vs. Denzel Freeman
Ricky Turcios vs. Cameron Smotherman
Adam Fugitt vs. Ty Miller

Umar is going to absolutely maul figgy lol.

Silva vs Allen is a sleeper. Curious to see how silva bounces back after that Lopes KO.

Also, surpised to see Rose as such a heavy dog at +300

I'm interested to see how the new Paramount+ deal is, no more PPV's and I'm ready to get back to Fight Nights every weekend.

Really hate the Nunes/Harrison fight got cancelled, that was the true main event.

I'm just pumped it's not on Paramount instead of PPV. Big win for the fans.

Derrick Lewis is on the Main...that alone makes this card awesome.

I was referring to the main event. 1st card on the paramount era, and you have an interim title fight between #4 vs #5 as the main event? At least make it Arman vs Paddy but we all know why.

Also, I would make it O’Malley vs Umar and Yadong vs Figgy. But that’s me wanting to see the best fight the best.

Sean just got mauled by Merab twice that would be fricked up to make him fight Makhachev jr. for a guaranteed 3rd loss in a row

Finally pulling the trigger on paramount + for this one. Probably the annual for $89.99 before they try to raise the price for monthly subscription

O’Malley is going yo get another undeserved title shot if he wins. But beating Yadong is no easy task.

I'm excited for Gaethje-Paddy. I know what you mean, but Gaethje's a warrior and Paddy's got a lot of hype energy. I honestly think Paddy's walkout song does a lot of the work for him in terms of hype. People have been waiting for someone to finally fraud check him, so let's see. Rooting for Gaethje but honestly not sure what's going to happen, which is thrilling.

Apparently Arman canceled before the Islam fight because he was about to miss weight. Dana said something to the effect that Arman's lucky they didn't cut him outright. Which makes sense, I mean to cancel as the main event for such a big fight basically the day before, that's about as bad as it gets for the UFC.

That Gautier guy looked scary in his last fight. But it looked like the guy he was facing was like a teenager fresh out of high school compared to him. Danced around the ring for a while before Gautier got hold of him and then it was like one punch and it was over. Fearsome.

I think he's gonna have to win a few this time after losing back to back titles. Not sure what the plan is at Bantam but i'd assume we're going to get a Merab-Umar rematch for a title eliminator after Umar wrecks Figgy

Gatheje said he isn't paid one dollar more under the new Paramount deal.

Unreal.

This really is a great main card. Feels like it's been a year since the last card.

I think Gaethje gets it done.

Derrick Lewis guaranteed banger and Acosta is super dangerous.

Silva/Allen and O'Malley/Yadong are great matchups that should produce a lot of strikes if not finishes.

Thug Rose needs this win or her star will be completely burned out. I expect her to be ready for the challenge.

When Nunes/Harrison got cancelled and O’Malley vs Yadong got promoted to co-main while umar vs figgy stayed on the prelims shows me where the ufc is angling.

But Umar vs Merab 2 a fight I still want to see.

I hear ya, but I think they made the initial, main card so stacked that it really didn't matter. Kayla having to back out sucks, but the whole main card is still very fun.

I think this is the only way Paddy has a shot to win the belt (interim). I think he'll fight Arman next, and then we see an Arman/ Topuria fight at the White House.

Like I said very solid card. Some of the prelim fights are good fights. I just wish ufc would’ve made a splash on the 1st paramount card with great main event. But if paddy wins, he’s fighting ilia next. The chess pieces are already in place for it.

Yes. I think Ilia has said that's the plan, he's going to fight the winner of Paddy-Gaethje at the White House.

The earliest Arman could hope to get a title shot is late this year or early next year.

If Ilia wins at the White House, he might angle for the fight against Islam. Or maybe he'll go into boxing. I wouldn't be surprised if he only does two or three more fights in the UFC.

I think Paddy's only hope of fighting Ilia someday is winning vs. Gaethje. Otherwise he has to win some more fights to be a contender again, and Topuria might be gone by then.

Dana responded to this today on Pat McAfee Show… Gaethje was offered more money & he never responded to the offer
