Rather than pay $40-50 for kit. That you still have to cook.

Get three packs of Pillsbury croissants. Then lay them in a circle. Fill with boudin and cheese and pepper jelly. Wrap and bake.

. Easy and cheap to do.

Most top with bacon and green onions.
I topped with a brown butter and cream sauce then green and red onions and lemon zest for color.
But it was really cheap to make. Easy too.
The croissants give good texture.

Many of the boudin king cakes are sold as take and bake options. So you'll still cooking it.
Yeah buying it made is always easier.
This is really easy and not much prep.

Good texture and good taste.

Could use any ground sausage i guess. Incase it and go. Doesn't have to be boudin.

It took 4-5 links

I've made this one a few times and everyone that tried it liked it.

Pepperjack & Cream Cheese Jalapeno Boudin King Cake

Ingredients:
1-1/1lb boudin, removed from casing
1-8oz Cream cheese, room temperature
1 ½ cups of shredded pepperjack cheese
2 cans of Crescent Rolls
1 egg, for egg wash
1 jar of jalapenos; finely chopped
1 jar of pepper jelly
1 pack of bacon’ cooked and crumbled

Instructions:
Preheat oven according to temp listed on crescent roll
Ina large bowl, combine boudin , cream cheese and fold in half of the pepperjack cheese
Build the ring by arranging the rolls with the wide ends towards the middle of the ring
Press the wide ends together to create a flat base
Spoon in the boudin mixture evenly around the center of the ring
Sprinkle with the shredded pepperjack cheese
Seal it by folding the pointed ends of the rolls over the mixture and tuck underneath
Beat the egg and brush over the entire cake
Sprinkle jalapenos
On top and gently press them into the rolls
Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown
Remove from oven and cool slightly
Spread the pepper jelly generously over the top
Sprinkle the bacon over the jelly
Let cool and then cut and serve with extra pepper jelly for dipping
