According to Fleming, Dr. Ralph Abraham offered him the position of Deputy Director of the CDC shortly before announcing he was stepping down. Fleming said he politely declined.

A week later, news broke that Abraham is now leading Letlow’s Senate campaign.

“We know that Jeff has been heavily lobbying the Trump campaign team for the endorsement, he is pressuring the Republican Party of Louisiana and the Republican Executive Committees to support and endorse Letlow as well,” Fleming wrote on Facebook. “And, he is personally calling his donors to raise big money to save the Letlow campaign.

quote:

Fleming continued his commentary, asking when Landry will stop interfering with the state’s Senate race.

“Who is best to decide who represents you in Washington? Jeff Landry, or YOU?” Fleming asked.

Also in the heated race is incumbent Bill Cassidy, M.D.

Backing Letlow over Fleming was incredibly stupid.

It severely increases the chance of Cassidy winning, which is makes it even more strange from a strategic perspective.

POTUS Trump did. Think 5D chess on multiple boards simultaneously being played by POTUS Trump. He endorses Letlow, who represents the same faction as Cassidy. They split that faction putting Fleming into the runoff.

It will be a Cassidy - Fleming runoff and Fleming will destroy Cassidy. John Fleming will be the next US Senator from Louisiana.

I am looking forward to the gorilla named Kennedy to get removed. Funny guy who loves voting democratic.

While I prefer Fleming and disagree with Trump’s endorsement, now you figure that?

The winner needs 50% +1 to survive the primary. As long as the loser of the first round between Fleming and Letlow backs the survivor vs Cassidy, and gets their supporters out to vote, Cassidy shouldn’t see the General Election.

But…I do wonder, with as hard as Fleming has gone after Gov Landry (he’s been going after the Governor more than Letlow herself), you have to wonder if the Gov behind the scenes maybe doesn’t help Cassidy in the primary runoff if Letlow is the one left out.

You're right. Kennedy uses humor to hide the fact that he's an Establishment hack, too. Hell, he was against an independent investigation into J6.

I haven't researched Letlow or Fleming and honestly don't know very much about either and any voting record they have.

The little bit I know about Letlow is what her ads and the ads Cassidy has put out attacking her.

Fleming I really haven't seen or heard much about except being the state treasurer.

As far as choosing between these two, I worry about Letlow because it seems a lot of these female politicians vote on emotion not logic lately.

Senator Cassidy, I do know about. No way that traitorous SOB is getting any votes from this household.

Fleming's desperate for attention.

I've been lurking here for a few weeks. Was a Miguez for Senate guy early on, but that ship obviously sailed.

Fleming wanted to get noticed so bad and became enraged after buying billboards featuring him and Trump only to get shafted on an endorsement.

Trump knows exactly who he's endorsed against Cassidy...this isn't some down-ballot race. This is the United States Senate; it's not even Congress/House, which is important but not something a President is as concerned about.

Under zero circumstances was Letlow some half-witted endorsement. Pres. Trump and his most important advisors obviously trust Letlow and want her to replace Cassidy, who stabbed Trump--and all conservatives--in the back in one of the most stunning votes in modern history.

The barrage of ads attacking Letlow from Cassidy and Fleming are acts of desperation from two different people who both wanted to be noticed by Trump but weren't.

Letlow's gonna win this thing and will be a conservative voice for our state...you can tell by the desperation Cassidy and Fleming are spewing.

Letlow is Cassidy in a skirt. Same atrocious voting records. Shes a rubber stamp for the rinos.

Fleming is the pick for America first

How’s it going Letlow’s campaign manager?

A couple responses to your ignorance.

Yeah and his advisors have gotten him to endorse every rino that stabs him and is in the back.
All you have to do is look at her voting record and liberty scores. She’s terrible.

Let’s not forget how she was all for tyrannical covid measures too.

Mods remove this campaigning douche

Ummmmmm. What? Calm down lil fella. Not sure why you're so offended. Fleming's conservative...always has been...would never argue anything different.

My problem is the attacks on Letlow are obviously flooding in now because Fleming and Cassidy seem desperate and angry Trump endorsed her over them. Nobody...nobody was saying anything negative about Letlow in prior campaign cycles...including when Trump endorsed her two years ago (read the internet: it's all there).

Fleming would've been a great candidate years ago, like back in 2016 when he was a candidate for U.S. Senate but lost to Kennedy.

Now that Fleming's 75 years old, holds yet another political office nobody seems to care about, he's pissed about not getting Trump's endorsement. So he's attacking Letlow.
