Hotel and dinner suggestions for one afternoon and night in Paris mid-May

Wife and I end our Viking Rhône cruise on Sunday, May 17 and fly from Marseille to Paris mid-morning. We will catch a 10-ish morning flight back to Houston on Monday from CDG airport. Keeps us from having to take a 6 am flight Sunday morning in Marseille to make the Sunday flight to Houston. Suggestions appreciated for a nice hotel not too far from CDG as well as a nice restaurant for dinner in the same area.

If you want a good restaurant (and you do) you won’t be near CDG. Just stay in Paris, enjoy yourself and take a taxi to the airport the next morning. We like the 6th arr. Hotel de Buci is a nice one. Lots of good restaurants around there. Le Christine is one. Boutary if you like caviar.

There are plenty of hotels near the airport at CDG, but they're not Parisian hotels. They're airport hotels in Europe. Tour buses full of people, etc.
Just adjust your expectations. I stayed at the Marriott CDG on the way in, and it was fine. But it wasn't Paris. The train is easy and relatively cheap to get into Gare du Norde, but you're going to have to be disciplined in getting back to CDG, with Atlanta style time to clear security and customs.
I've always stayed at Marriott brands in the EU, and the underrated tactic is to ask the concierge where they would eat breakfast or dinner. It'll get you off the tourist map (they know what you're paying each night, they won't suggest a kebab shop.)

Thanks. Years ago I think we stayed at the Le Scribe, now Sofitel Le Scribe Paris Opera. Do not need to be near CDG, just not hours away. Hour or less from the airport on a Monday would be preferred. And yes, we want a good restaurant. Thanks.

I'd had great steak frites in cafes I can't name. If you're going to spend money like Le Scribe, than you can afford the Prince De Galle on 32 Avenue de George V.
Email them (and they will respond) and let them know what your priorities are, and they will book you. The Prince de Galle has been flawless whenever I've been there, including years apart.

Find a restaurant that doesn’t have an English menu, use Google Translate to order and you’ll be fine anywhere you go

And if there is German on it, run. In Paris, that's the level below rowdy Brits.
Every waiter spoke English. I'd speak French, then they'd hear my ex wife speak Spanish, and they'd just switch and ignore me. I can respect the game though.

Since you have a 10am flight, I’d recommend staying at a hotel at CDG. Leave your luggage at the hotel Sunday morning and ride the RER into Paris. Monday morning will be much less stressful if you are already at CDG.

I'll second this suggestion. We did the same thing. Had a bit of a late night getting back to the hotel, however, when RER service was canceled and we had to take the metro and then transfer to a bus. Fortunately, it worked out.
