Lets see.. Ronnies and Best Stop and Dons are all pretty much the same.. Freshness varies though.. Dons somehow manages to sell their hot all the time and tastes fresher. If best stop is fresh then its great otherwise its hard as shite.

If i'm stuck in BR, do I have a chance of finding a decent cracklin within a 20 minute drive?

Absolutely, and Best Stop has been consistently not fresh lately.
Ronnie's on Florida Blvd. is good in BR.

Bergeron's in Port Allen.
One of our brokers brought a bag from Bergeron's today, that's what made me start the thread actually. They were terrific!

The owner of Best Stop died almost a year ago and ever since then things at Best Stop haven't really been the same. I've have been a loyal customer there since they opened but I go to Don's for my cracklins now. Best Stop still has better boudin though...

Its very often that I run to BS to get smoked boudin and then to Dons to get cracklin.

Got some from Best Stop yesterday and it was slightly warm and very fresh. It's my favorite and I can definitely tell the difference between Best Stop and Don's.

Anyone that names a place East of the Atchafalaya doesn't know cracklins.
