I've been going on heavily as to why I think the Saints should take KM @ 14 ( and eventually ditch Bush ). My reasonings are spread out all of threads, but I figured it would be good to have one with clips to show what I'm talking about, in case you haven't seen or forgotten. Check 'em out.
#1 Running a screen pass and a sprint draw. Notice the quick plants, the avoidance, and knowing when to go down. Also notice when he does get tackled, there is little direct contact and what there is, he goes with it. It cannot be understated how important it is in the NFL to know when & how to go down as a RB. LINK
#2 ...wow
You wanna see inside running without being a 'powerback'? LINK
#3 Just have to include this... 'airborne'. LINK
#4 Squeezes through a tight spot, stiff arms a guy and takes possibly the worse hit / contact of his career. LINK
#5 Herschel Walker 1 on 1, some repeat stuff, but some amazing change of direction stuff not found in the above ones. Some nice, pure, atheleticism, and no Bush doesn't have it like KM does. LINK

Why the frick do you want to get rid of Bush all together? You are a frickin idiot if you want that. The dude is our safety valve on offense. Whenever Brees cant find our big guys downfield, he dumps it off to Reggie for atleast 5 yards every time. We all know he cant run inside, partially because of him, partially our OL who cant run block that well, thats why we had Deuce, and still have PT. I think we do need that power back, but what the frick does that have to do with Bush? Would it make you happy to just have him listed officially as a WR? Do you really want to be that politically correct? Its not like we try to run him inside 10+ times a game and he isnt producing, we throw PT in, so if you want to get rid of someone, get rid of PT/Stecker. Not to mention he is our best PR, and led the league in TD's this past season before he got hurt...

if the saints draft him it would a HUGE FAIL!!!
the saints already have the best offense in the league we dont need another RB, we need defense!!!!!!

I'm so tired of people thinking we HAVE to have a dominant running game to win a Superbowl. Half the posts and 90% of the callers on WWL call to beg for a big back.
After the Giants made their run everybody fell in love with Brandon Jacobs and have been begging for a big power back like him since.
All you have to do is look at Superbowl history, including this year, to see we dont need a huge power back to win.
We need a defense that doesnt give up 30 points a game.

precisely...not to mention that effective running backs aren't all that hard to come by anyhow.

Agree, did anybody watch football this year..Last time I checked the NFC championship game was the Cardinals vs Eagles.. both teams built similiar to the Saints (the RB position is the most overvalued position in football)
Screw talkin about drafting a RB.. Draft the best available players on defense

This isn't Madden. The problem is, too many people want the new offensive toy to play with. That excitement clouds their judgment and makes them overlook what's really wrong with the team. Here's a hint - it's not the number 1 rated offense.
More evidence:
Sean Payton + Drew Brees = 40 passes a game.
The end.

Maybe im reading it wrong but isnt this contradictory?

if you want i can go online and put up better highlights of bush when he was at Southern Cal (but then i'd have to gouge out my eyes having to watch southern cal highlights)
Moreno is a great athlete, but he's the same type of player as Bush, with slightly less production in college.

If we draft Moreno it wouldnt put us in that bad of a position. If and only if they sign Sharper or know that MM can convert to safety(and take a pay cut)b/c that is the number one priority right now. Here's the deal, we all know that this is Bush's make or break year. He is due a huge salary next year and more than likely will not take a paycut b/c of his hollywood ego. So do we draft a RB that could be a great one and save ourselves 12 million next year or do we not take a RB and deal with FA when it comes around next year? I could see the pro's and con's of each way to go, so I wouldnt be entirely upset to land Moreno

drafting knowshon moreno would not put us any closer to the super bowl

But it could free up a ton of money next year for players that can, and we wouldnt have to worry about the RB position

I guess it was slightly confusing. Let me break it down.
1. Our No.1 ranked offense is already bad-arse, so we don't need a RB.
2. Our defense sucks, so we don't need a RB.
3. Sean Payton loves to throw the rock... a lot, so we don't need a RB.
Capiche?

possibly, maybe
this draft pick is huge, because the saints window isnt exactly wide open
payton and loomis are mighty close to being on the hot seat

None of those highlights made me think drafting him in the First Round would be smart. After all those reels, you must have forgotten we had the #1 offense last season.
WE NEED TO DRAFT DEFENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PERIOD!!!!!!
Moreno is a college stud for sure, but none of those highlights were more impressive than a million others I've seen. Hell, play Reggie Bush's collge highlights and you'll forget about KM in a second. Reggie's college highlights are as impressive, if not moreso, than any college back in history.
And by the way, spare me the "airborne" highlight. What kind of highlight is it where the RB 'hurdles' a defender and falls down 4 yards later? Most overhyped highlight ever IMO.

Whether this was meant as a joke or not, this might be the most intelligent post in Saints Board history.

and that's not an exaggeration. i don't understand why people don't realize that bush gives defenses fits. just because he can't run up the middle doesn't mean he's not a valuable commodity
