We shouldn't release him to any SEC team IMO.

I thought there was a rule that said you had to sit out for TWO years if you go from one SEC school to another.

Only if they don't release you to that school.

Was thinking the same thing. One year penalty is plenty enough to another Division I school.

Why not? It's so fricking petty to not fully release somebody. To not let him play in his home state for either Bama or Auburn would be a bitch move by Miles.

To prevent an SEC West rival from adding depth at a critical position?

I don't think in this case you keep him from going somewhere else.

Les did the right thing as usual. Not to mention he wasn't a starter for us so that would be a nice blast on bammer if he did.

The same reason Ole Miss let Malcolm White come to LSU: Because they fear pissing anyone off. I glad Ole Miss did it, but I would be mad if I were an Ole Miss fan (for many reasons).

I like to think that Miles has class and he wants what is best for the players. Even if that means letting a good athlete go to a rival school.

We're talking about kids here. Any coach attempting to prohibit a 19/20 year old student from attending the college of his choice is a prick.

The dude's home state is Alabama.

If Les already Ok'd a possible transfer to Auburn, what good reason could he give for not releasing him to BAMA? None. He is or will be released to play for BAMA shoul dthe details get worked out. IMHO

FWIW, Baton Rouge is closer to Mobile than Tuscaloosa and Auburn.

winning football games is priority #1. If we can stop a young player with potential from going to a rival school, we should do it. Phelon knew the rules when he signed with LSU.

He can attend whatever college he damn well pleases, but if he wants to play football for that school then we should have a say in that.

make him sit 2 years.
