Forget Crowton, Let JJ Run the Offense

Quarterback Jordan Jefferson persuaded the coaches to let him hand off to Scott instead of putting the ball in the air. They were sure glad he did.
"I would rather give it to Charles and let him pound it in there," said Jefferson, who was 18 of 27 for 212 yards. "Charles is a big power back. I didn't want to pass it. That situation required a running play. I saw the hole, and once he hit it, I knew it was a TD."

This is not what I want to hear from our QB imho

fwiw, I think he was talking about that situation, not that he was afraid of passing the ball. I agree with him. They were already in Jasper's range. Just try to hammer it out instead of throwing it around with the chance of an INT.

agree boot, tipped ball at the line or a db making a good break on the ball, JJ is not scared to throw he's just being smart

Our quarterback made a smart call and thought we could take advantage of a defense we had been, quite frankly, leaning on all game.
A nineteen year old convinced our OC to run a different play.
It worked.
LSU beat Georgia.
LSU is still undefeated.
Intelligence is also an important quality for the quarterback, is it not?

On the road, in that situation, that was by no means a gimme. At all. frick trying to make a 45-50 yarder with all that on the line.

That's exactly what I was thinking

carl you make a very good point... we might have been in jasper's range, but in a tight conference game, no matter if we are in TS or on the road, anything can happen... gotta have a perfect snap, hold, and kick the ball through the uprights... I think JJ was going for the win and he knew exactly what play to call!

I hope so. I'd hate to think everybody was satisfied with kicking a 47-yard field goal on the road.

The only reason Jefferson came out and told the reporter he said that was cause it worked. Had Scott gotten stuffed at line of scrimmage and Jefferson said that, we would have never know cause he wouldnt have admitted it to reporter.
