I haven't really played a racing game since Gran Turismo 3, but I played that game 10 times as much as any other console game. I loved it. PS2 was the last console I owned, but I think I will buy a PS3 just for that game.

I pulled out Forza 2 and my steering wheel the other day to start getting warmed up for the new game. Has anybody played DiRT 2? Would it be worth a buy if you love racing games?

You can play the demo of Forza and Dirt on Xbox live. Forza is one of the better racing games I've played, but I am below average when it comes to racing games.

hey you can most likely get a free gamertag for a month.. just sign up for a new account and enter in a different yahoo or hotmail account and it should give you the option.. you wouldn't even need a credit card.. atleast thats what i do whenever i run out..

I have a free Xbox live for 48 hours code if someone wants it.
Also, does having a racing wheel make it that much better? I find that the sensitivity of the controller stick is too much for me. Forza 3 looks to be the best racing game out right now.

Just played the demo and wow. Only had about 5 cars and one track but I can tell this game will be a blast.

Racing wheel worth it or not for Forza 3? I downloaded the demo and played on the controller and it was hard as hell. I'm not sure if I like how realistic it is.
I tried to drift around a corner doing like 90 and it flipped the car over and over, thankfully the rewind feature is awesome.
Is NFS Shift a better choice if I've never played a racing game as realistic as Forza or would it be worth it to just go ahead and get it along with a racing wheel?

You can dl the NFS;S also. I'm pleasently surprised with how good Shift is. May have to eventually buy it. I actually play the DL of Shift more than Forza 3.
All that said, I haven't bought Shift yet but will be getting Forza 3 on day one. It's much more detailed than Shift and has lots more cars and tracks to play with. Btw, I prefer the controller over the racing wheel.
