Home-made split pea soup

Just made huge pot of it in my crockpot! loaded it with potatoes, carrots, and tasso. came out great. one of my favorite things to eat when its cold outside

I'll second that.
Good to eat when its cold outside and also when you are broke...they peas cost like $1/bag.
I like cooking mine around a beef soup bone and having little shreds of beef in the soup. Definitely one of the easiest/best/cheapest soups to make.
Beef bone, sweet onion, carrots, garlic and Tony's for my recipe.
