Anyone ever been during Thanksgiving? If so, where are some good places to have a Thanksgiving dinner? No, I don't want to ask the Food and Drink board.

I have, but a- I usually go home and b- when I was here, I usually went to a friend's house....

That being said, most restaurants are open - but I would highly suggest calling- it may be too late to make a reservation at this point at a lot of places...

Yeah I went 4 or 5 years ago. Went to the parade but we went to my mom's aunt's house for dinner.

Just pick a nice restaurant.

If you are going with the family/friends, I would suggest Carmine's. I went there last year with my extended family, and the meal was excellent. It was all inclusive with beer and wine, and it ran about 90/head w/ tip if I recall. Only serve family style and you need reservations.

I left feeling like a piece of shite though. Italian (veal parm, pasta, lasagna, salads, etc) and traditional Thanksgiving (turkey, stuffing, yams, pie, etc) should never be consumed at one sitting.

Agreed, but the Thanksgiving touch put it over the top. They had a turkey for every 5 people at the table and sides galore.

See if you can get your hands on a Zagat Guide to NYC restaurants. They often have a list of restaurants that do holiday meals. Or you can try searching the NY Times or NY Post websites. I have, on a couple of occasions, done Thanksgiving at a restaurant in the country north of the city. There are some wonderful old inns that not only do the food well, but that provide an atmosphere much more in keeping with the holiday. I've never done it in the city.

ETA: The poster below who suggested that this late will make it tough is right. Best bet may be one of the hotel restaurants, some of which are pretty good.

Keen's is a great place. But I doubt they have any openings this clost to Turkey Day and the million out of towners in for the parade.

NY Magazine is also a great site (don't know the exact site), but they often have a lot of 'lists'
I know we use their 'all you can drink' brunch list very often....
