My Take on 2010

This is how I view or 2010 football team (long):
Offense:
Oline-->They have to get better, and they will.We basically get bigger across the board which is a great thing IMO. Bigger is better, and hopefully we go back to punishing our opponents
LT--> Chris Faulk may be the most talented olineman on our roster. He is big tall and athletic. I look for him to push people around at the LT spot and be a dominant run blocking tackle.
LG-->, we return Josh Dworaczyk. Although he has a big frame, he needs to put on at least 20 lbs this offseason. He has all the tools to be a dominant guard, and with some extra weight and a full offseason of coaching, he should show some major improvement.
C--> i don't want to get into it, but the offseason should be a battle. It isn't all about size here, but whoever plays must be smart. Helms wasn't the best blocker, but he was smart enough to get the job done. Hopefully experience brings improvement
RG--> Alex Hurst adds at least 30 pounds at this position. This should help our run game.
RT-->Barksdale is an absolute beast and should improve.
I think with an improved oline and running game (Ridley, Ford, and Shepard should make us solid) JJ will shine at the QB position. He has already improved his pocket presence during the course of the season, and he is a hard worker who will put in the time to improve. I think that if we establish a good running game, JJ will be exceptional with the play action. He is and will always be a playaction type QB. He is pretty good at play fakes, and it should open up some nice post routes to tolliver and peterson
JJ has a phenomenal year next year if we can run the ball (which i think we can). Its time to throw out this spread option bullshite and only got to 4 and 5 wide spread sets. Lets simplify the formations and play some smash mouth football.
Defense--> I expect us to see drastic improvements on the Dline based on talent alone. Drake Nevis is the next Glenn Dorsey, and will the best in the country. Josh Downs gives us a very solid middle. I expect us to rotate the DE, giving Montgomery playing time as a speed rusher and a Mustang OLB. Our linebacking play probably won't be as good, but they were exceptional this year. With Chavis (and if Sheppard returns) we should still be well above average.
If Chad Jones returns to the secondary, we have the best in the country. While losing Coleman hurts, I expect for Loston to take over his role without missing a beat

Don't forget that we have got find a fullback that knows which direction to run. If LSU could get a running game going, they will be very good. You can't be a top team if you can't run the ball. LSU was pitiful this year, look at the numbers and compare them to years past.

Left Tackle is a huge question mark
Is Nevis going to be a SR? I think he's a good football player (could possibly be an all-SEC 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Teamer next year) but not at Dorsey's level.
LB will be an interesting position to watch - CHavis has done an excellent job coaching the position this year.
the secondary will be very good. I'd like to either see Eugene improve or someone beat him out.
We'll know more after spring and after we see who leaves early for the draft but my expectation is that we AT LEAST equal this year's record. If we don't have anyone leave early then I expect better than this year. We should be back on track with 2 loss Les.

there is a balance here though, if he can't make a bigger variety of throws, he'll continue to be easy to defend allowing the defense to stack the line. The running game will open up when the other team respects the passing game.

it was talked about on the radio earlier this week
i've also talked about it with my roommate, who is a lb on the team, and he said that it is a very good possibility.

he isn't at Dorsey's level yet. If we can improve our DL across the board though, I think he will shine. He has shown a lot of flashes of brilliance over his career and has the same type of explosion off the ball Dorsey had at LSU
they are both the same height and size, both have similar skill sets. I was actually thinking he was a going to be JR. next year but he will be a SR. Nevis was the best DT in the Bama game for either team IMO.
At the end of the season, people were taking advantage of Rahim's pass rushing aggressiveness and running right at Alem. He would shoot down, and the tackle would just push him past the RB leaving a huge gap. We get some DE who will turn those plays inside and Nevis' numbers will be great

i agree there is a balance here, but JJ impressed me with his accuracy in the last couple of games, even with a bumb ankle. If we eliminate the spread option bullshite from his playbook and focus on passing, i think he will improve. We need to run the fade route more with him, he threw that very well from the auburn game on.

I agree to most TBAIT. I like Blackwell at LG over Josh D. Blackwell is 20 lbs more than Josh and every time he came in he played better than Josh. I think Josh D is a Miles favorite and that is why he plays.

i didn't say it was fixed, i said it was improved. He still takes sacks he shouldn't (see end of Ole Miss and Arkansas game). If you don't think he has gotten better at it, you are blind. He moved very well in the pocket against bama and did a good job @ Ole Miss (for the most part) of getting rid of the ball very fast in the 4th quarter.

I agree. Jefferson has been sacked 30 times this year. 15 of those sacks came against Georgia (6), Florida (5) and Ole Miss (4).

You are totally forgetting about the JUCO transfer, Jermarcus Hardrick, who will likely push real hard for either LT or RT. Also, don't rule out the fact that Barksdale could shift over to LT.
Regarding Loston, I was under the impression that others (Stefoin Francois or Karnell HatcheR) were being groomed to replace the Hitman. I really see Loston playing safety in college.
