Since Saints won the Super Bowl, doesn't that mean next season will open with a Saints Home Game on Monday/Thursday night?
Agianst Dallas? New England? Jets?

Maybe, I don't know for sure. All I know is that the Colts got it in 2007 and they played us.
EDIT: Yes we get it. Doesn't say who the team will be.

Steelers would be good for ratings and they can call it the Black and Gold bowl or some crap like that.

As of 2009, the host team of the Kickoff Game is 7-1 and the defending Super Bowl champion is a perfect 6-0.
I hope we don't mess that second part up

If Favre comes back, you can bet its the Vikings. Bring that shite on, we'll get that 1 game advantage from the jump

It will probably be the Steelers.
Steelers or Vikings are the only two home games that would make sense and since the schedules come out in April and Favre probably will still be milking his "Will I or won't I come back" thing at that point, that leaves the Steelers for an opening night game of the last two Super Bowl champs.

Let the discussion begin about the first game of the 2010 season. The NFL season will open on NBC Thursday night, Sept. 9, at the Superdome. The Saints' schedule is not a very attractive home slate, except for two games. Seattle, Cleveland, St. Louis ... not good. So I'll give you the only scenarios the NFL and NBC Sports czar Dick Ebersol will discuss sometime after the Olympics:
1. Minnesota. My guess is the Vikings would be the No. 1 candidate if Brett Favre plays. And if the league and network don't know his status by late March or early April, I'd say they'd go to the next-best option, which might be the biggest ratings bonanza of any of these debut games ...
2. Pittsburgh. Steeler Nation brings in the numbers in football that only the Red Sox and Yankees do in baseball (of course, the football ratings are higher than any baseball ratings, but I'm talking in relative terms), so it would be a great ratings numbers to be sure. But I wouldn't be surprised to see the league try to save this game for November sweeps, either for NBC or for CBS. My guess is this would be an NBC game in November, because CBS is due to get New England-Indianapolis after NBC had the matchup the last two years.
3. Atlanta. A 50-to-1 shot, but it's the only division game (with Matt Ryan firing against Drew Brees) that would be remotely sexy enough for an opener.

Right now Favre is reading those articles and stroking himself. He's loving that (as long as he doesn't commit to anything) the NFL still revolves around him.

Beating Favre again would be fun.

Here's even better...
Favre sez he's coming back, they schedule the Vikes for the first game, Favre then decides to retire for real... Tavaris Jackson

I honestly think it's going to be Atlanta.
Like someone said, Saints/Steelers is really going to be a good one, but I think CBS will want to protect that game, and save it for a later date.
Minnesota (with Favre) is probably the obvious choice, but the Opening Night game is made around mid-March, a few weeks before the rest of the NFL schedule comes out, so that would mean that Favre would have to make up his mind in a matter of 4-5 weeks.

The Saints play AT Dallas next season and don't play New England or New York at all.
Probably Steelers. Match-up between the last 2 Super Bowl champs on primtetime. I think NBC wants this. Otherwise I think the choice could be Minn IF Favre decides to come back.
