I don't see how he's being a jerk. He sees the writing on the wall and already knows the Dodgers aren't going to re-sign him.

I didn't gather that at all. If he wants to play next year for someone, he's probably going to play as hard as he can. If he doesn't, well then THAT would be Manny being Manny.
In the meantime, I think some people are jumping too quick to call him a jerk and a shitty teammate. At least in this instance.

How about Manny shutting up and let his hitting do the talking in quest for a big bucks deal elsewhere next year? or does he plan on taking off August and resting for next season?

honestly the main problem will be starting pitching.
billingsley needs to regain his all-star form, and i think kershaw can step up for us big this year.
kuroda and padilla should be good 3 and 4 starters
the rest of the lineup is the same. hopefully they can all play the way they did last year
