I never heard of the first game. What's the story and gameplay like?

It's based on Warhammer 40,000, which is pretty much where Blizzard got it's ideas for Starcraft.
The game is a RTS focused on combat, with not as much emphasis on base building/resource gathering as a traditional RTS has.

Much more focused on controlling your units as opposed to selecting a ton and telling them to attack...have to manage them to use their abilities and keep them in cover.
