Just got back from a weeklong trip to G.S./O.B. Other than increased air traffic over the gulf, there was no noticable effect of the spill. The water was nice and the beaches haven't looked this good in a long while. My advice to anyone that is on the fence about an impending vacation, is to go for it and have a great time. We did.

We are still going to Fort Walton Beach in July. I think alot of people are starting to cancel already. Our condo has let us know we can change our dates if we want without extra fees and they said if the beaches close to the public due to the oil spill during our stay they will refund our money less reservation fee. Guess they are doing this to keep people from canceling

yeah BrettRobinson has gone so far as to offer money back for any unused portion of your stay if you leave because YOU decide that the oil spill has affected your vacation in a negative way. This shows just how desperate they are to stave off the mass cancellations. Can you imagine the forclosure rate if most of these owners miss their summer rentals? This is where most of them make their nut for the year.

Unless you plan on going to the LA beaches, the rest of the Gulf Coast is fine.

If this Top Kill doesn't stop the leak. Those beaches will have oil on them within a month.

Truth hurts.
