Based on what he is saying I would guess that it is:

He's doing a good job ... seems nervous but hell I know I'd be peeing on myself. I wish I understood what all he's saying ... must be terrible reliving this ...

Yep ... that's him ... "Chris, what's that water?"

Sounds like he was one of the first to have a clue of what was going on. "We got to go".
This is the second time that I've heard him have to tell this in about 20 minutes ... I swear 2 people have asked the same things and he's answered the same way. I get that want to be sure about what happened but really.
And what is EDS??? (Did I say that right?) He says that someone said "we won't EDS"

SO if this guy testifying wanted to hit EDS and the other guy said NO EDS, would the first guy hitting/alerting it have helped anything?
Don't know. It could have possibly saved the rig and possibly shut the BOP.Don't know. I don't know exactly how the system works so I don't know if it failed because the BOP wouldn't close or for some other reason.

quote:No idea if it would have helped. But... likely some of the hesitance to hitting the EDS would come from the fines MMS dishes out for unplanned disconnects. HINT: regulation isn't a magic pill.
