Heard on the radio that Murphy was ending a contract with Diamond and leaving the GOM for Africa.

everyone is leaving. don't let anyone fool you into thinking that the rigs are staying in the gulf. right now, most are cleaning and painting their rigs to be more appealing for overseas market bids. those that think the rigs are staying are retarded.

Murphy is a client of mine. I can find that out for sure. stay tuned.

Let them and while they are at it, pull out all the Murphy gas stations out of Louisiana as well!

that won't be necessary.

I seriously doubt that Murphy Oil is pulling out of the US. One of the rigs they have under contract may be moving elsewhere but they arent shutting down their operations here.

Murphy is going anywhere, in fact they are increasing stimulation work on their production platforms.
Diamond is leaving the Gulf, I know a VP there and he has told me Diamond wont have any operating assets in the GOM

Ok I just spoke to my contact at Murphy E&P in Houston. Diamond announced Monday the 12th that they are pulling out and going to Angola for Murphy. The only deepwater drilling Murphy was doing was on that site. They do have assets but it is just idle now. Murphy has alot of other assets that are not affected by President knucklehead. They are not pulling out of the US. They are an El Dorado, AR company with refineries in NOLA and WI and Biofuels plants in IN along with their E&P side. Strong intergrated Oil and Gas company.

Let me edit that to say they have deepwater assets that are idle along with this propety. The other GoM assets for Murphy are in production already.

Do they not have any producing DW assets?
Posted on 7/14/10 at 11:11 am to lsugradman
I didn't ask. Not sure, I want to say yes if you consider deepwater to be over 500 ft.
