Last week we posited that Texas needs to counter punch LSU’s depth chart pitch with some salesmanship of our own. Some well-placed Muschamp magic via Phillip Geiggar or Evangel’s Head Man seemed to do the trick considering Rasco skipped out on Coach Miles this week.
But there’s more to this story than we first reported. The message being used in the tug-of-war with SEC powers must resonate with Mamma before it makes a dent with Jermauria. Word is Mamma Rasco isn’t like Mamma McFarland and actually does want what’s best for her son. That’s huge news for Longhorn fans because with the shenanigans going on at Alabama, Les Miles perpetually uncertain future, and the fact the Horns have emissaries on location in Shreveport to constantly deliver their positive message to the Rascos is a terrific confluence of events for the Longhorn staff.
But this is still Louisiana and the SEC, so a perfect storm may be exactly what Texas needs to pull this super-talented defensive end.

He won't be able to pass up being on the home state team with freak johnson, Mickey johnson. He will be at LSU

UT fans are always some overconfident SOBs. They're gonna get smoked by OU this year.

Idk about that. Landry Jones isn't very good and their O line sucks. it looks like a rough year for OU.

So, the conduct of one player, unrelated to the fooball program as a whole, will make his decision? Not that he's coming to Alabama, but that's one dumb argument.

He better fricking stay in state.

I was arguing this today. He seemed legit but an OU fan thinks otherwise.

Rasco hasn't been to LSU in some time, and while some others look at that as a bad thing for LSU, I think it as much as we can ask for.
Back in February, Rasco said he has seen all he needs to see at LSU, and basically said we are number 1. I'm sure he is going to look around at other places to see if they can match the feeling he gets when he is here.
I will be worried about Rasco when he comes for his official and doesn't leave as a commitment.

It's A&M's year (finally) in the Big 12. They have to take advantage that both UT and OU are very down this year and they have their best team in a long time

Phillip Geiggar who's career highlight was roughing the punter against Colorado to help cost his team a sure shot at the national championship.

AM is the team to beat besides UT, imo.

Granted, want Rasco to visit here as much as the next but answer this question:
Where else has he camped or visited this summer?
And countering the Texas "emissaries," LSU has a pretty important coach working in our favor as well.

Didn't Evangel's UT loving coach leave the school? I thought Dawson was taking over the program...or is he their d-cord now?

quote:UT always thinks theyll get everyone they want. until a kid puts them on the back burner and then: mack cooled on him or he wasnt smart enough for UT or hes been associating with less than reputable characters(street agents). then, they are the classic break-up-with-them-before-they-break-up-with-you mentality.
