Deer flies - any good repellent?

Hey guys, does anyone know of any effective way to repel deer flies? I've tried high-deet bug repellents, rubbing down with fabric softeners, the thermacell, etc. - nothing works. I attract these things like a magnet. Tips?

There's no way to escape them except maybe a camoflage bee suit. Even running faster won't help either they track you down or there's so many when you stop you're swarmed again.

it may sound stupid, but i know from experience that it works on mosquitos and gnats, havent tried it on deer flies...victoria secret AMBER ROMANCE lotion. give it a shot

My dads friend kept a bottle of this on his boat when we would go fishing in Montegut. This shite works great on gnats, dont know about deer flies.
