Yesterday I ripped out the majority of the plants that I planted in the spring in anticipation of the fall season.
Last year I had some good luck with broccoli so I think I'm going to do that again. What other vegetables are recommended?
I also have a shaded spot in the garden any idea on a plant that will grow well there?

How about some turnips or brussel sprouts? Beets and Kale are also winner stuff as far as I'm concerned. Love doing stuff with that in the winter.

Cauliflower and lettuce, for sure. Home grown lettuce and greens make for fantastic salads!

I was just thinking of starting a fall garden. Maybe I'll get some inspiration here.

I always grow cabbage, mustard greens and carrots in the fall.
you need a very good soil for carrots, But I eat carrots often and won't have to buy any carrots 3-4 months out the year.

Carrots, Turnips, Collards, Spinach, Mustard, Cabbage, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Red Potatoes. That's what I'm planting in mine...With these 100 degree days I'm still probably at least 3 weeks from planting though...

Cucumbers are an idea. I did this one year and tried to pickle them myself. It honestly turned out fairly horrible, but it was a fun experiment.
