At what week DURING the season does Brett Favre "retire"?

With Minnesota plummeting like the stock market a few years ago, it would not surprise me if Grandpa Favre ends up watching the rest of the season on his couch in Hattiesburg, MS.
Question is at what week during this season does Favre call it quits, and is it legitimate or does he blame the ankle injury?

I don't know what the answer is but he was limping walking into the Dome yesterday before the game. He isn't healthy.
